Facial expression

1. When we say that someone has a serious look on his face we mean that the person is wearing a serious look on his/her face at that moment ?
But how can we express the fact that someone has a permanently serious look on his/her face i.e. the facial attributes of the person is such that the person always looks serious ?

2. "You have a serious face." In this sentence we have used "face" to refer to the "facial expressions"
of a person. Is such usage of the word "face" acceptable in formal english ?

3. Which transitive verbs can be used with "look" and "expression" as in "You are wearing a serious look/expression " ? Can we use "assume" ?
