If someone said "He's only being facetious" or "He can be facetious", and that you're not knowing "he" because that someone is your friend but not "he", (i.e. no context is available in this case), what can you deduce from the remark that your friend made?
My question really is to ask if the word "facetious" is just a word to describe someone who is generally a funny guy or it does has some negative connotation to it? Native speakers, please help and thanks.
By the way, does the word facetious commonly used by native speakers?
