No you can't 'do' facebook.

The word 'do' also implicitly refers to having *** with. You 'use' facebook.

Do certainly doesn't always mean having ***, in fact, that is a fairly recent usage of that verb. All I'm reporting is what I hear kids in my part of the country say. Kids do their homework...which, of course, has nothing to do with ***. That may be where they have picked up saying such things as, "I did facebook until my mom made me get off and do my homework." Come to think of it, (and I checked with my daughter on this), I never heard anyone say, "I use facebook." They say, "I'm on facebook," or, "Are you on facebook," or "I posted on Facebook," but neither my daughter nor I have ever heard anyone say, "I use Facebook." Facebook is essentially a service. You 'use' that service, though there are different ways in which this is represented. I guess, 'do' isn't something that has quite caught on in the UK. We commonly use the term 'go(ing) on facebook' to say this, following on from the fact that you 'go on the computer' but w/e.

I would use "use facebook" if I were writing about it formally, as I understand the concept of using a service. It just isn't what kids in my part of the country use in speech. "Do" seems to be a big part of their vocabulary, e.g., "I'm doing my makeup; I'm doing my nails; I'm doing my hair; I'm doing my homework; I'm doing the wash."
