Face to paint

Can one say

a. The painter wanted to be with her because she had a beautiful face to paint.
b. The painter wanted to be with her because she had a face to paint.

c. The painter wanted to be with her because she had a beautiful face for him to paint.
d. The painter wanted to be with her because she had a face for him to paint.

a1. I thought he wanted to be with her because she had beautiful lips to kiss.
b1. I thought he wanted to be with her because she had lips to kiss.

c1. I thought he wanted to be with her because she had beautiful lips for him to kiss.
d1. I thought he wanted to be with her because she had lips for him to kiss.
?

Each of the sentences in the second series could be spoken as a reply to the corresponding sentence in the first series.

In all of the sentences the final infinitive could be replaced with : that he could VERB.

.... she had a beautiful face that he could paint.
