Vocabulary

fabric

Hello!

I'm dealing here with a poetic text, so I need a help of native speakers and all those who are good in this stuff.

Is it Ok to say that ''ideas grow from the fabric of the magnificent nature and architecture of the little X Island. ''

how about frivolous modern pleasures

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thank you in advance

As you read this, please keep in mind that these are just my opinions, and nothing you've written is technically incorrect. I don't think that saying "ideas grow from the fabric of the magnificent nature and architecture of the little X island" works very well. First off, I would remove the "the" before "magnificent nature" because it makes the sentence sound as if it's meant to be taken literally.

  • Addressing the real issure however, I don't think that "fabric" is a good metaphor as you've written it.
  • Nothing literally grows from fabric, so it sounds a bit confusing when you say that "ideas" do.
