Eyes

Do you think you experienced war in a mans eyes? Well, in this book called, Eyes of the Emperor by Graham Salisbury a author of many books. The main character is a young boy named Eddie Okubo and the author lets us see war through his eyes. He belongs to a japanese family that consists of his mother, his father, and his younger brother.He also has some friends named Chik and Cobra who were drafted into the army at the age of 18.They both was witty,smart, and humble yet playful with Eddie Okubo. The story begins with a mysterious fire on a boat Eddie, his father, and his younger brother were working on for a good long time.That eventually led to Eddie fulfilling his american dream of hiddenly becoming a soldier along to follow with Chik and Cobra.Then the boytold his parents an found out now they were sad, shocked, and scared for him because they wanted him to stay.Eddie's father was most furious at him.He hasent talked to Eddie for a long time, that is, until that dreadful day that Pearl Harbor was attacked by the japanese and Eddie had to leave to go fight in the war with Chik and Cobra.then they got to their units they never got to fight in the war, they just became some sort of test dummy for the army.They were testing the theory of japanses people have different types of feelings than "regular" people by basically being hunted by attack dogs.They weren't getting the jobs they deserved and weren't being treated fairly.Since Eddie left, things at his home had never really been going very well.His father had diappeared not too long after he had left and his younger brother and mother were having a bit of a stuggle getting by.In conclusion, Eyes of the Emperor is book that everyone should read if you would like to see war through a soldiers eyes and would like to know more about Eddie, his freinds, and his family.
