Vocabulary

eye OR eyes

Hi,

(1) She looked him straight in the eyes
(2) She looked him straight in the eye

Which version sounds “more natural” to you?
(In my native language only (1) common. The other version would make sense only if her vis-a-vis was a Cyclops Emotion: smile )

Thank you!

It's "straight in the eye", not "eyes", monocularity notwithstanding.
