Extra wording required?

Hi. Please help. Let's say a child has an emergency fund and his mother has asked him not to use any of it unless he has talked to her first. Now, he wants to make a note of it on a Post-it (note) in case he forgets. Can he write like this for his future remembrance? Or, should there be extra wording after "mom" like "whether you can use it"?

"Before you use any of your emergency fund, ask your mom."

On a post-it note, there is not much space.

Ask mom before you take money from your piggy bank.
