Extra prepositions

According to some article I found on the Internet the sentences below contain extra prepositions (marked in bold):

Where did he go to?
I will go later on.
Cut it up into small pieces.

However, these sentences sound perfectly natural to me. Could some native speaker please comment on it? How common is the use of the extra prepositions mentioned above?

Some grammarians frown on your first example, not liking the dangling preposition, but it is common enough in speech. In #2 and #3, both prepositions add information or mood to the statements, in my opinion, and though they could be eliminated, the sentences would not be the same.
