Extension
Dear teachers,
I am writing a letter to request for an extension of my scholarship. Could somebody please comments some of the sentences?
1. As you already knew, it is impossible for me to continue the study without the financial support. The extension of the scholarship will be able for me to complete four studies as part of my PhD work. One of the studies will involve data collection from the American nurses. If the responses from the nurses to participate in the study are good, the data collection will be completed approximately before May 2008. Therefore, it is crucial for me to be in the US to complete the study. On top of that, the study is the core work for my PhD.
2. Therefore, I would like the university* to consider providing me with the scholarship from the period of X to Y. Subsequently, the university can extent my working contract upon completing the PhD studies.
(Note: my scholarship is provided by the university. In return, after completing my PhD , I will need to serve the university for a certain period of time)
3. I am hoping that the university will approve my application as my research project is progressing well. On top of that, I do receive a lot of support, help and guidance from the supervisors not only for completing the PhD study, but also to become an excellent independent researcher.
