Expressions with animals to describe people/organizations/companies

Dear All,

In some countries it's quite common to use animals in order to describe people's qualities as such figurative wording brings to mind certain character traits. I'd like to know if it's possible to call organizations or companies in a similar fashion. For example, can we call a company:

a lion of road building

Thanks

Hi,

In Canada, it is not at all common to see these expressions in business writing.

Hi

Clive is quite right. In business writing, you do not refer to your corporate IT partner as a total donkey

You might say "We are somewhat disappointed with the network performance this month"

The thing is that I have to change this sentence into something more acceptable...

Our company won the reputation of a lion of road building and an invincible army of railway construction.

Hi

The phrase suggests something like ...

- a champion of road building

- world leaders in road building

- our company won the reputation of being in the forefront of road building technology
