expressions wanted

Hello all,

1. Considering following situation.
A: Oh yeah!! Mick is coming over tonight for the party!!
B: ______. He didn't say for sure/ He said he was not sure if he could make it.

trying to figure out an expression that B will tell A not to be too happy/optimistic at this moment cuz things can be changing.

2. A: Thank you for helping me out. If ____, it would all be screwed up.

looking for something like: if it weren't you? I'm not sure about the proper structure.
