Could you confirm whether all of 'is', ' equals', 'goes' and 'makes' are possible in the following sentences? Thank you.

1. One plus two is/equals/goes/makes three.
2. Four minus two is/equals/goes/makes two.
3. Three times four is/equals/goes/makes twelve.
4. Six divided by three is/equals/goes/makes two.

Top answer

"goes" is wrong in all of them. "is" and "equals" are possible in all of them. For me, "makes" works better in #1 and #3 than #2 and #4.
