Expressions for more/less salt in food

Hi

I am curious as to how a native would express this?

A - How do you like your soup?
B - Superb -- except the salt is a ???

Is it a typical way of saying this?

That particular day she decided to put more sugar in his tea.

Thanks,

Tom

What's wrong? You let in too much salt/pepper in our soup!
