Hi Please help. I'm wondering what the right expressions are: 1) "Hi how are you?" "Look, YOU'VE PICKED THE WRONG DAY" (meaning: leave me alone, this is a bad day. Is this correct?) 2) Can you say, although not colloquial: "Destiny PAVES YOUR WAY in life with hurdles"? 3) "I'm goingo meet Carl." "I'LL GO WITH YOU." (or is it: "I'll come with you"?) 4) AT THIS PACE (or: at this rate?), the number of hispanic people in the US will reach that of the black people". 5) Job interview. "START OFF by telling me 2 things you are good at." (is it correct in this context? 6) How do you call people that pass from one temporary job to another? Is there an expression for that? We have one in Italy, and it's "the precarious". 7) "Consider the alternative: SPENDING the night at the theatre" (shall I use "spend" or "to spend" instead? 8) "Swallows: you see LESS AND LESS of them YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT... (meaning: each year, as years go by)" (are the two expressions in block capitals ok? 9) PROUD ABOUR or PROUD OF? 10) Is this expression correct: "THE REDISCOVERY OF THE ORIGINS" (meaning: somebody who rediscover their roots."
Sorry for the long list. Thank you in advance. Antonio

6. "What do you call ...." I don't think we have a word for that.
7. spending
8. "Less and less" is OK, but accidentally, because you see fewer swallows, not less, but we say "less" with "see" in that context: "I see less of Judy now that she's in school." "Year in, year out"
