Expression: " The landlord was very..."

Hi

The following sentence is from a test I just took. I used the answer from imagining that there was nothing left in the inn, so the landlord arranged everything (food, tea etc) from his house. But the correct answer was on. Could you please shed some light on this?
3. The landlord was very generous to us. All that we consumed in his inn was from on the house.
