In my language there is a very colorful expression whose literal translation in English would be something like this. something very valuable/rare (found) among very ordinary things
Do you think you could provide me with an equivalent--an idiom or a proverb?

The following is not really an equivalent, but it came to mind. I don't think it is used much anymore these days because it might be considered "sexist". au/education/learn-english/learn-english-idioms-and-phrases-with-roses/8859208 'A rose among the thorns', or 'a rose between the thorns', refers to a flower (something of beauty) that stands among thorns (something that is not of any significant beauty).
