Look at the floor color. I'd write 'Look at the color of the floor.'

If you're refering to the color of this particular floor (which is likely), and color is its characteristic (obviously), than I'd say "floor's color".

The expression "the floor color" has a broader meaning, i.e. the color that has something to do with the floor =)

Both of the previous posts seem reasonable to me, Tom.

Saying "the floor's color" strikes me as more pointed or specific than saying "the floor color". To me, the former focuses a bit more on the floor itself, and the latter focuses a little more on the idea of color.

For example, I can imagine a possible use of "floor's color" in a situation such as this:
Imagine I had bee
