Expression or Expressing Them?

"To infuse the habit of “expression” in them"

Or

"To infuse the habit of expressing themselves in them"

I want to write that I want students to have the habit of expressing themselves. Though, I have to incorporate it in the "Our Objectives" section of my website. So, I have to start with "to". How do I write it?
