Hi,everyone
I would like to ask questions about
expression of number in English here,
If i express 21,46 and the other two-digit number in words, should i separate the two words with
hyphen'-',like
twenty-one,forty-six ?
Can i leave the hyphen out, like twenty one, forty one...
Here i mean is not to be an adjective,twenty-five clothes..260 or 351 and etc, written in words,
is it necessary add 'and' between the figures such as two hundred and sixty, three hundred and fifty-one ?l learned that it need not add 'and' between the number in
American English,
two hundred sixty....
Numbers between 1000 and 1,000,000 is usually said or written in words as:
1,803 = one thousand, eight hundred
and three (
AmE: one thousand, eight hundred three).
Is it right?1706 =seventeen hundred and six (or
'seventeen oh six'),can i express 1706 in
seventeen oh six?Is it formal or not?1800 can be said or written as "eighteen hundred" or " one thousand eight hundred ",which one is formal and common used in spoken English ?Thanks in advance
