Hi
We have an expression in our language whose literal translation in English would be something like this:
Cleanse your heart (of any misgivings, doubts, etc)
We use this expression when someone has been disillusioned/angry/disappointed in us without knowing the truth. We explain the situation to him/her and ask him to 'cleanse his heart'.
So now you know why she couldn't make it your birthday party or reply to your messages. I hope you'll cleanse your heart and be friends with her again.
Could you please offer me a suitable English equivalent?
Thanks,
Tom
Maybe "let it go".
