Expression: Can you please put my mobile to charge.

Hi

A common expression on this side of the pond is something like this:

Can you please put it (my mobile) to charge?

How does it sound to native ears? OK? Odd?

Thanks,

Tom

It sounds very odd to me. I charge my mobile or, possibly, put it on charge.

Thanks, fivejedjon.

I assume this sentence would also sound odd to your ears.

My mobile is charging. (Indian/Pakistani English).

I think a native would put it like this.

My mobile is getting charged.

...because if "charging" sounded OK to you, then would "put it to charge" do too. Ple
