There is an expression in my language whose literal translation in English would be something like this:
And the wish remained unfulfilled... We use it when we feel sorry about an unfulfilled wish/desire. Mostly we use it ironically. Please see. And the wish remained that you'd listen to me at least once. And the wish remained that you'd cooperate with me. Any suitable substitute in English?
