expression

Hello everyone!

How do you say that you raise your head to look at the sky?
Is it okay to say: I raised my eyes to the sky? Is it something people usually say or does it sound peculiar? Thank you very much:)

I would probably just say "I looked up at the sky", but "I raised my head to look at the sky" if my head was looking down or away from it. "Turned my eyes to the sky" or "Turned my eyes skyward" are also OK, depends exactly what you want to say.
