A discusion wsa there regarding how to express chronological order .Say for eg:

What is the chronological number of Mr.Manmohan Singh among the PMs of India.

Which will be right term to express the idea of the words underlined above?

I think it is agreed that there is no easy way to say this

In English, there are cardinal numbers..

- 1, 2, 3, 4...

and there are ordinal numbers..

- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th..

For the cardinal numbers, there is a simple question: "How many?"..

- How many apples are in that basket?

- There are five
