express gratitude

Hi

Please help me with this.
I would like to express my deep sense of gratitude.

This sounds idiomatic to me.

Without the underlined portion the expression sounds a little odd. (I would like to express my gratitude)

I would like to express my deep sense of gratitude. To my Canadian ear this sounds fulsome, unless perhaps in an extreme situation, eg speaking to someone who has saved your child's life. I suppose it might be OK in Indian English, which is more flowery.

Yes, rightly said.

Can we remark it this way:
Sometimes it so flowery that it falls by its own weight!

I want to convey that the meaning which the writer wants to convey is lost in the flowery language.
