Expletive

The investigations of many psychologist and anthropologists support thegeneralization of there being little significant difference in underlying mental processes manifested by people from different culture.

To my knowledge an expletive starts with THERE IS or IT IS. However above sentence uses THERE BEING. Is THERE not redundant in cases as above since it functions as a modifier being...... (object of preposition)?

No, the whole clause ('there being...culture') is the object of the preposition. There works as the expletive in non-finite clauses, too. Compare: 'There's no use in his being obstinate'.

The investigations of many psychologist and anthropologists support the generalisation that there is little that is significantly different in underlying mental processes manifested by people from different culture.

The two 'that's are correct but a bit awkward, so I'd like to eliminate one of them. It would be OK if you did this:

The investigations of many psychologists and anthropologists support the generalisation that there is little significantly different in the underlying mental processes manifested by people from different cultures.

Well first, since the sentence contains the same peripheral errors I indicated, it is not a real ETS question: they never let typing/spelling errors slip by.
