Explanations on the quantifier 'little'

Hi Teachers,
Could these be good explanations to the quantifier 'little'?
a) It can refer to a very small amount of a liquid or mass.
b) It can refer to practically no amount of a liquid or mass.

Well, number 2 seems more appropriate to me to explain the difference with 'a little'.

A little
It can refer to a small amount of a liquid or mass.

Little (isn't 'b' more consistent to explain the difference with 'a
