Is the following correct?
This must be the explanation for the…
Or should I insert something after "explanation," for e.g.: This must be the explanation given/provided for the…
If I should, it would be strange for me because it is not given/provided yet at all if it is only now if somebody gives an explanation, and only me who gives an explanation.
Or should I write it with "of": this must be the explanation of the…?

Yes, the sentence should have been whole, indeed. I thought it like this: "This must be the expanation for the fact that he was so angry." Or "for his bad behavior," as you've said, so you've still told me the answer, thanks very much!

Correct. We tend to use that instead of this in this context, but both are grammatically correct.

Also, That must be the explanation for his anger. Also, more idiomatically, That must be why he was so angry.
