Hi,
Could someone please explain what "nexus" means within the expression: "...an evolving nexus of multinational corporations and intergovernmental organisations"
Here the context is regarding simplifying understanding of international relations, where "The World" is equated as "an evolving nexus of multinational corporations and intergovernmental organisations"
I find it difficult in understanding how "the world" can be "a nexus", and what "evolving" means in context of a nexus.
I would also appreciate other usage sentences of "nexus" that are similar in meaning as this sentence.
Thanks
nexus: link, interrelationship, connection, relationship, interdependence, association evolving: changing, emerging, growing, developing From what you've posted, I believe your sentence is saying this: The world can be characterized as a constantly changing series of associations between multinational corporations and intergovernmental organizations. They are not likely to mean that the world literally IS these things. More likely they're saying the world has these characteristics when looked at from a particular point of view.
