Explain some of the ways in which humans are damaging the environment. What can people do to address the problem?

Humans are responsible for the variety of devastating environmental changes, of which everyone is highly encouraged to take actions to reduce the associated problems. This essay will present some negative environmental changes regarding to air pollution and water resources and will state certain potential measures to eliminate the effects.

First of all, two biggest threats to environmental habitats are air pollution and water contamination. In terms of air pollution, in this industrialized world, gas emission from factories and private cars can enormously damage the environment. For example, in certain developing nations with the high-density population such as Vietnam or China, there is a great number of private-car owners, which means the gas emitted per day can be devastating for the atmosphere. Furthermore, industries can be another factor towards air pollution since the waste from chemical factories can be extremely harmful to the environment. This can lead to increase in carbon dioxide and results in the greenhouse effect. Another aspect of environmental pollution is water contamination. Toxic waste dumps or sewage could have a damaging impact on aquatic life as these can decrease the water quality, which can end up destroying marine life. These cases can be found everywhere on news, of which fish is reported to be epically dead and swept into the coasts.

As serious as the problems appear to be, necessary solutions should be proposed. Firstly, to combat air pollution, more and more public means of transport are run daily and add more destination for people’s convenience. This can increase the number of people opting for public transportation rather than the private car. What’s more, some environmental changing projects should be occasionally warranted to help tackle the pollution. For example, in my city, students are encouraged to participate in a meaningful project called “ Annual Green Life Campaign “ to clean up the coastal areas. For individuals, they should be self-aware of a clean environment by changing daily habits. To illustrate, they can use paper bags when shopping or make a waste-classified garbage basket at home. I believe these little actions can bring out enormous outcomes.

In conclusion, the human is blamed for devastating environmental influences. Therefore, they should be the first ones taking steps to alleviate the potential problems.
