Experts are divided in their opinions

One holiday that is celebrated around the world is April Fools' DAy ... Where did such a strange holiday come from? Experts are divided in their opinions ... Others point out that many ancient cultures had a festival with customs like this. For those days, all normal standards would be ignored.

Hi,
Is it the same to say "Experts differ/vary in their opinions" instead of the bolded part in the above? Thanks.

Angliholic Is it the same to say "Experts differ/vary in their opinions" instead of the bolded part in the above? YES. A quibble could be made that "divided" represents a stronger verb than, say, "differ/vary" but the intent is the same.
