Experience of traveling

Twenty years ago, when I was a little girl, I had traveled with my mom from Kathmandu to Myagadi. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and Myagadi is a remote rural area.

In our journey, first we traveled from Kathmandu to Pokhara by bus, it was about 7 hours of drive. Pokhara is one of the beautiful cities of Nepal. It is famous for its scenic beauty with lakes, green mountains and snow capped mountains, and waterfalls. When we arrived in Pokhara, there was many tourist s from different parts of the world. The weather was nice; it was neither cold nor very hot.

We stayed in Pokhara for one night in a hotel. Next day, in the morning, we had a flight for about half an hour from Pokhara to Balewa in a small Twin Otter plane. Balewa had a very small airport with natural grass runaway.

When we reached to Balewa, I was so surprised to see those tall mountains everywhere around me. There was no transportation. There were only two options to reach to Myagadi one was on foot or by riding horse. Usually, it would take about seven hours on foot and four hours by horse to get there.

My dad was in Myagadi. He was not able to receive us there because; he was busy at his work. However, he had send two men and four horses to receive us. I liked horse very much. But, I was scared to ride horse at that time. My mom was riding horse very nicely. But I could not ride by myself, so one person was sitting with me. I remember making him bored asking lot of questions; like what happened if horse slipped down from the hill; what happens we fall down. I was scared to death, the road was very narrow and it was going up and down through those tall mountains. From one side of the road, I could see Kali Gandaki River flowing, all the way down, hundreds of feet below to us. I could see people rafting in the rivers. Many tourists used to come there for rafting and hiking.

Finally, after about four hours we reached to Myagadi, our destination. When I get down from the horse, I could not stand properly for a while; my legs were hurting so bad sitting in one position for so long. Altogether, it was two days of the journey, and I had several new experiences in my life and had really good experience of traveling.
