Vocabulary

experience

I am translating a cover letter for a friend. Can you please help me with a tiny thing please?
I would like to do a good jobEmotion: embarrassed

The sentence reads like this:

"Moreover, my recent experience as Assistant Teacher showed me how robust is the Montessori approach."
Would it be more correct to say:
"Moreover, my experience as an Assistant Teacher showed..."

Which one is more correct/elegant and why?
Many many thanks!

Thank you so much!!
Just for future reference, if assistant teacher were not capitalized, would " an " be all right then?
