Experience

Hi all,

I would appreciate any help. I have trouble with the following sentence,

At Google, I experienced running a company. OR

At Google, I got to experience running a company.

Thanks!

At Google, I experienced running a company. - sounds a little stark. I think your second example is more idiomatic: At Google, I got to experience running a company.

  • At Google, I experienced running a company.
  • - sounds a little stark.
  • I think your second example is more idiomatic: At Google, I got to experience running a company.
  • - except that it's American.
  • We Brits would be more likely to say 'At Google, I came to experience running a company' or 'I had the experience of running a company'.

Hi,
I hope you understand that these sentences suggest that you were the CEO, ie 'the boss', of Google. That''s a very large company.

Perhaps these are just practice sentences?

I'm sorry. These are just practice sentences. I love Google so that was the first company that came to my mind. Emotion: smile
