expense or charge

I would like your help with the following questions.

1)How much do you need for school_A__?

A expense B charge

Could you tell me what's the differences between the two.

2 ) It'll be good for you __B__in a correct way.

A when done B if done

Why not choose A.

Both suggest that something must be paid -- expense has abstract meaning too, though. Expenses incur upon somebody after having used services; you pay. Charge means you ask for money for sevices you have performed.

  • If you use when instead of if , you are certain that the thing in question will happen (that something is done correctly).
  • I will call you when I get home (I know that I will be home (soon) ) I will call you if I get home (I am not sure I will arrive at my place)

It's usually school/university expenses.

The fees represent your expenses.
but
The fees are charged by the university on each student.

As for #2, you could choose either.

Somehow A sounds like it was one already, but don't incorrectly. So it will be good when it is (eventually, finally) done in a correct way.

And B sounds like there is doubt that it will be done correctly. It will be bad if done poorly, but good if done correctly.

Taken as a single sentence, without any context, it's hard to say which
