Expansion?

You're a software designer. You designed an email app.
With the old app, a user can only email sending and receiving, but the new app allows a user to use an address book, to attach a file, and to save a draft.

Do you say this '(function) expansion'?
Is this weird to say Expansion of the email functions?

I think it's weird, too. I've chosen improvement/improved. Thank you!
