Existing vs existent

What is the difference between the words existing and existent?
from the below example sentences, which one is grammatically correct?

My intended meaning is I'd like to say buyers often ask for features of software that don't exist.

1) Buyers often ask for non-existent features.

2) Buyers often ask for non-existing features.

I believe the use of 'non-existent' is correct here.
Any situation when we can use the word non-existing? or is it grammatically correct?

"non-existent" is far more common than "non-existing". It may be possible to make a subtle distinction, whereby use of the latter may be justified in certain special situations, but 99% of the time you will want the former.
