Can I say,

a . The exhaust fan / the fan of exhaust was caught fire.

b. The exhaust had caught fire.

c The exhaust fan had caught/ was caught fire.

Are they same in meaning?

Items a) and c) are the same; the exhaust fan is the thing that was on fire. In b) it is the exhaust that was burning, not the fan.

(c) The exhaust has caught fire. The exhaust is burning right now.
