"Exemplified through"

Is the usage of the phrase "exemplified through" in a sentence incorrect?

Top answer

[/nq] I'd say "Yes, it's incorrect". Something is exemplified by an exemplar (or model), so "exemplified by" is the only idiomatic form. I can easily imagine people using "exemplified through", but if I heard it I'd consider it a solecism.
