Exclamation mark

Hello Teachers,

Just a general question on exclamation mark. Must we use ! only when exclaiming or can we also use it to express a wide range of emotions like anger, indignation etc.? For example: That's enough! or So be it! and so on. In these cases, ! may not be strictly necessary but adds emphasis.

Is my reasoning correct?
