Hi,
could you please help me with this phrase? what is grammatically correct?
I want to say that some shop is open daily, except Sunday. what phrase would you use:
except Sunday
except Sundays
except of Sunday
except of Sundays
personally I would go for "except Sundays" but I am not sure...

Hi Monika, The first 2 are fine, but in BrE we would normally say "except on Sunday" rather than "except of Sunday. " Hope this helps.

The first 2 are fine, but in BrE we would normally say "except on Sunday" rather than "except of Sunday. For example, you might say "I normally get up at seven oclock, except on Sunday, when I sleep in."

Change the ofs to ons and all four are possible, but we definitely don't say "of Sunday(s)".
