Hello, I know this has been discussed before, but I am posting this thread because some people say that "He ate everything except the beans" is incorrect. Is that true? I think that both "except/except for" can be used in: - He ate everything except/except for the beans. - Everyone came to the party except/except for Dan. - I like going to most sports events, except/except for cricket matches. Both work for me, but I might be wrong.
