Hi,
Can you tell me what form of the noun - singular or plural - I should use in this sentence: "In the example/examples 1 and 2 we are given extra information about ...."

With two examples, you should use the plural, but the article isn't necessary when you say "example one." You would need the article if you said "the first and second examples."
