Hello

Need advice

verb+ing - continuous tense eg. he is playing

In many other situations it used as Gerund or participle,

They like to play or they like playing

But many a times im not able to figure out why ing is added to the verb,

Likewise

What is the costing

What is the meaning

Working experience

Is this pending etc....

Why are we using ing in above words

Are these participle, gerund or what

Also what if I say work experience instead of working experience

There are many similar confusion I have

Please advice
