Exaggerate

Hi.
What does 'exaggerate' translate to?
In persian, we have 3 words for going far in giving a description of something according to weather it is impossible logically or naturally.

Exaggerate - to blow something out proportion. For example; Lets say Paul fell while running and he goes around telling people that he almost died. He would be 'exaggerating' ( blowing out of proportion) what really happened.
