Exact Word

Can someone please tell me what is the exact word for third gender people? I don't mean to say Homosexual or Gay. The one which are mostly found in India and they called them "Hizda" or "Chhaka". I didn't find the word in dictionary and not even from the people who were good in english. Hope i'll get the answer in this forum.

"Intersex" is a word currently used to describe people who have some male characteristics and some female ones, or people who identify with both (or neither) genders. I wrote an essay on this for my law degree - a human rights unit!

The politically correct term is: "transgendered person" - in other words people who were born biologically male, but believe they should have been born female or vice versa. You could also use the term "transexual".

This is different from "transvestites" who simply enjoy wearing the clothes of
