Hello, lazurda—and welcome to English Forums, Well, I can put it into more usual English: Gentlemen, that boy puts the thing on its equal merits and brings it home to us. I'll do my duty in this issue . Does that help?

Hello, lazurda—and welcome to English Forums,

Well, I can put it into more usual English:

Gentlemen, that boy puts the thing on its equal merits and brings it home to us. I'll do my duty in this issue.

Does that help?

Mister MicawberWell, I can put it into more usual English:
I'm not familiar with the book. Is it your impression that the odd spellings are archaic, or just phonetically-spelled dialect?

Dear Mister Micawber,

would you please rephrase these sentences in even more usual English, the plain one, without idioms. I hardly can translate them

I'm guessing at some of the context, but if I may try:

Gentlemen, that boy has explained the issue fairly and convinced us. I'll do my duty in this issue.
To do your duty is to do your job, do what is expected of you, or do what you morally believe you must.

Thank you Sijay, that will do!!!

The latter, I presume—or dreadful mistyping by lazurda.
