Evident/evidenced

Hello! In the following sentence 'evidenced' is used as a synonym to 'shown', I believe. Is it correctly used? Could another verb/expression be used instead? Thanks!!!

Well, It's part of an e-mail someone sent me, so I can only guess. Reading the context, I'm guessing it means that the annual average values also show the same trend.

'The annual average values show tha same trend.'

Would that be correct?

Thanks again, teechr

That makes sense, but I don't know if that's what the author intended in the original.
