Evidence for the syllables

Hi there, I have a question here asking about syllables, which I dont really understand how it suppose to start off answering, see if anyone could help me out with it.

Kisanga has the syllable structure (C)V(C). In a children’s game called Kinshingelo, sentences 1a and 2a are pronounced as 1b and 2b, respectively.

1.a. obe mukwe?tu twaja? ku mukola
‘you, my friend, come with me to the river’
1.b. beo mutu?kwe iatwa? ku mulako

2.a. ba?nabaka?i ba? mu ko??go ba?temwa? kudima
‘the Congolese women love to cultivate the land’
2.b. ba?naba?ika ba? mu ?go?ko ba?mwate? kumadi

Obviously the a and b versions are variants of the same thing with certain parts of words twisted about. Start there. Which groups of sounds are treated as units when the words are switched around? Do they fall into the pattern (C)V(C)? Are there any units switched around that don't fall into that pattern? How do you explain that?
